    For others:
    Jasmine Bubble Tea
    • provides one extra koala for 6 hours
    • this is not a default (or given by leveling up) recipe
    • this is a level 4 spa product
    • requires no base artisan product (which is one of very very few finished and sale-able artisan products)
    Silver Flame Incense
    • provides one extra darklight firefly per pen for 12 hours
    • this is an alchemist level 4 product
    • no alchemist products require a base product to produce
    • the recipe is not a default recipe
On several markets, the price of Jasmine Bubble Tea has steadily increased
My own observation is that Silver Flame Incense tends to be inactive but somewhat active during moonlight madness events.

Can you imagine what players would do and what might happen to prices if a buff was ever called for as part of an event?
    OR
Imagine that EVs were set by the game team for finished artisan products and
and event called for 200,000 EVs of artisan products

Just glance at the recipes and see what ingredients are called for.

Can you imagine the number of sunflowers which would be used?
They must come from somewhere.................and BP sure did give away sunflower cloud row and there already was a buff for +1

    • Do you feel BP gives away salt and sugar, etc with no development plan to get to credit cards and sell more?
See the recent tree fruit price explosion?
Ohhhhhh and don't forget tree fruit is used by the trades.

(back to the chart for me to finish)

illy, would you like to play a little "broke artisan game" today? xD Anybody?

There is a recipe in the Artisan's Village Products faqs that is wrong ... and has been there for years now.
Which one is it? xD or maybe you need a hint?

    Hello S-B.
I cannot make pretzel. What does it actually take to make the pretzel?
    The faqs say
    • 1 shortcrust pastry
    • 100 wheat
    • 2 eggs
    • 20 salt
What does it really take then?

I can tell all this though:
    • There is more than one recipe that is wrong in the faqs!

Pretzel is done using basic dough. I have the recipe and I had to check, lol. :p ;)

YUP xDxD basic dough is one wrong recipe .................

basic dough does not take 100 water as the faqs indicate. lol

And that is not the only one which is incorrect. This is why the game team will give the trades some attention. I do not know what all they will do.

With all this simple and obvious confusion there must be some real easy ccs in all this craziness.

    My suggestion:
    • Find something you like in the trades. There are many many direction one may go in.
    • For instance and without using any math and looking only at recipes I can see:
    1. There sure are a lot of apples used in this madness. So this farm hold over 2,030,000 apples. xDxD
    • Maybe you like plums?
    • or sunflowers?
    • or Island Paradise Jam?
    • or??????? on and on
A lot of products are used. Welllllllllllll I just so happen to have a little chart that may be of some use to a few. I know One-Two will like it. We could buy parrot feathers for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time and make hundreds of million doing just about nothing.

So that is the parrot feather tree. Well the trades use cow milk and honey and goat milk and .......... and they have trees too xDxD

There has got to be lots and lots of ccs with all of this craziness. And little thought. xDxD Players do not even question the faqs but just make anything with whatever shows up. xD

What do you think? xDxD Please do the thinking for us all.

I try to put out my product trees whenever I have space - which is nearly always! (Is it possible to be nearly always?) There are times when any one of them becomes very, very lucrative! Same as what happened to Pheromones all those years ago - think I remember you predicting something would happen there. I had thousands of the things and sold them all at a very good price ... leaving me needing them myself lol! :p Now I always make sure I have a good supply - who knows what's lurking round the corner? :D

I have FB and AJ (alias Mooboy) to thank for me checking out if workshops are worth putting out or just buying the product (there is one workshop that takes 6 animals plus one feed for one product!). :music:

Thanks for making me think about the game a bit more FB! ;)

    My dear friend Illy :inlove:,

I need a little help with something to do with these trades being that you seem to be the Artisan Trade Queen and all. xD

Give me two minutes to get my question together. I really need help bad. :) be right back

The following statement is in the present Artisan faqs:

    * What can I do with the crafted items?

    • The finished products can be seen on a shelf in the Artisan Building, just under the 'skillpoints' progress bar.
    These products can be
    • stored on the shelf, until you choose what you want to do.
    • used to level-up in the craft-building - They will add the same amount of trade-points that were given when making the item. for example, an apple jam gives 20 trade-points when made, if you choose to "use" it to upgrade - it will give 20 trade-points to the level you are on) <---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Example:
To make a chocolate shake the farm will receive 180 points to add to the trade. I understand that part

Chocolate shakes are cheap cheap cheap in the market. Seems to me I can buy them cheap ..... and use them to get 180 point and level up the trade with no thought and no effort.

How can I do this as the faqs say that I can? I'm just an oooooold farmer noooow and need help.

A new farm surely would have trouble understanding this. Just tell me what to do. ....... please

Oh my, oh my! An ol' farmer has asked me how to do something and I can answer him toute de suite! :inlove:

Go to your Artisan of choice, click on the item you want to use and you will have four choices: use it as a buff, use it to level up (only if you have more levels to go that is), gift it or sell it at the market. Running your mouse over the four choices will show you what each icon means. :)
I don't really believe you didn't know that FB but it was nice to feel like a wise ol' farmer for a change! :music:

Edit: When I was trying to level up in Confectionery, I bought and made Lavender Jam. ;)

Illy :inlove:, now I like what you said and how you said it. So you are really explaining to me how my farm can be a level 5 of any craft and do no making!

Now I did not say it but IllyThe ladybug did. :inlove: And now I have a name for it and it is real important:

The Illy The Ladybug Artisan Crafts Level Up

And I have another question I just know you can help and oooooooooold farmer nooooooow with:

Am I able to eat say 2,000 of someone else's artisan products in one day and level up? I want to do it for every trade and be done. Please help me.

And yes you may assist me further with this no-making leveling up of yours. xD And thank you. :inlove:

Question: May I eat only five (5) items to level up in total each day OR may I eat five (5) items for each trade I may have?

(illy, what is the current low price of parrot feathers on you market? I think I may have something for you and that One-Two :inlove:. This does have something to do with the trades BUT easy ccs for you ............ and that One-Two :inlove: . )

You can eat five (5) items to level up each day for all trades you have open - so if you have five trades open, you can eat a total of 25 items to level up. ;)
Lowest price for Parrot Feathers on the market at this time is 26,428 and the highest is 71,111. :D
Can I help you further with your investigations, ol' timer? :)

You are wonderful. Now to relate Parrot Feathers to the trades. They are current not used in the trades.

I tried to explain to many why invest in parrot feathers. I feel sure One-Two made millions of easy easy ccs over time. Here is a chart to begin to explain how parrot feather fit into the trades.

    product evilly's marketnote
parrot feathers1,864 26,428 market is over 10 times ev
    honey740
    goats milk375
    cow milk465
    eggs300
    • BP calls for 100 parrot feathers with the current Tiki event. (Remember, there is a parrot feather tree and there is also what WAS a useless parrot feather production pen.
    • There are also trees which give honey, goats milk, cow milk and eggs too. Every single day people use them and barns fill up.
    • People will also use honey, goats milk, cow milk and eggs to make craft products
    • Well parrot feathers are over 10 times its ev right now on many markets. Now it takes the trees and the production pens game-wide to meed the demand (BP has control of the demand and knows exactly how many are in the game each day and they have their goals.)
    • The other production pens with trees are pretty useless still. (Well, 10 times those ev(s) will give me a number. Those market prices all are not 10 times there ev on most markets. So I want um (up to a point). So the broke farm holds:
    parrot feathers123,879
    honey134,126
    goats milk 74,841
    cow milk239,687
    eggs312,892
    • As the honey and cow milk and goats milk and eggs increase in price (for several reasons ..... including for artisan products .... there are easy and do nothing ccs. Why? BP will try and keep the game balanced.
And BP knows the trades exist and what is disclosed is somewhat distorted.
    • There sure is a bakery in the faqs of the current event faqs just released (the bakery uses products)
As the prices of the products used in making the Artisan products increase, players will naturally want at least what they have put into them or missed out on by making them. This has taken time to happen in the past but the speed of the increase is now increasing also.

Gotta go and buy some cheap finish artisan products to "eat" so I can level up a trade or two using the The Illy The Ladybug Artisan Crafts Level Up method.

And there is a logical method for determining which artisan product to "eat" in each area.

And if anybody asks which ones they are then ..... hahahaha xD .... we'll just ask illy :inlove:
    xD

    --- edit -------

If you can see just anything about the parrot feathers then I have something else that surely will prove the intensity with which BP developers move and exactly how one can figure out what is really happening.
    ------------- edit 2 ----------

I recommend getting the honey and cow milk that you need or for an investment.
    Here is why:
    • Calls for products are done by the product or the class of products
    • The trades rely upon products as we can see from the recipes
    • When rationally donating, a farmer will normally donate the product which the farmer has less tied up in.
So parrot feathers was the answer for a long long time. Now prices are too too far above the ev for a rational farmer to purchase to donate.
    • Eggs are no good to freely donate anymore
    • Goat milk is no good either.
    • This leaves honey and cow milk.
The upward price movement should happen much more quickly than with parrot feathers. Here is why:
    • Instead of donating 1 parrot feather then one must donate 2.52 honey for the same benefit
    • Instead of donating 1 parrot feather then one must donate 4.01 cow milk for the same benefit
The daily output from the product trees is the same.
    I assume stable trade use.

    Effect:
    • Price increases of cow milk and honey
    • Some artisan products slowly increase in price as cheaply made products dwindle
    • All products pens where there are trees become more attractive to use.

Sorry broke, I forgot to go through this thread. Now, I will go through it several times and try to see what I can understand & let you know. :)

    ************************************************

    edit*
illy, my brain hurts too. But eagerly waiting to see what broke is going to say next.

after reading some posts in this page, my observation
    1. When I wished to level up any trade, I did not eat 5 crafting products each day.
What I did was produce the basic products in that artisan trade which is needed to produce the final crafting trade. I did this because, I can produce huge numbers of them with only a little bit of resources. Producing them in large numbers helped me level up easy.
For instance Basic Jelly in Confectionery trade required only water, sugar & apples. Apples were cheap then and were easy to get & grow. I leveled up till 4th level and then stopped.

Similarly florist , basic product boutonniere required only wheat, manure & floral wire. So I need not use the products to produce them. Similarly I can use boutonniere to produce spring boutonniere which requires sunflowers in addition. These are easy to get. Producing them in large numbers help you level up. I stopped as soon as I reached level 4. Not interested after that. And not worthwhile. Except Alchemist I have crossed level 4 in all trades. Alchemist requires too much of crops. I am not willing to give it right now.

    2. I have stopped buying Parrot Feathers. Their price is too high. I am now trying to built up products from toucan & anaconda as they require only one animal and have good EV.

I am trying to understand what point your are driving at. And eager for your further posts.

    • Agree, players do not necessarily need the products to level up their trades unless they choose. (Keep in mind that some will purchase recipes that require products.)
    • The trades will drain products from barns if one uses recipes that require products. (Some do not wish to produce products so they purchase them.)
Now One-Two, why would you say things like this:
    • The price alone of parrot feathers does not determine whether it is a good investment. The rate (mrket price divided by ev) when comparing to the rate of others determines the best investment.
    • The product of the anaconda is pottery. (ev is 956) Are you aware that one producing pottery is actually loosing exchange value? The ev of the required anaconda alone is 1,144. I have already addressed this matter in General Issues and choose not to take it any further. (The ev for parrot feathers is 1,864.)
    • AND
    • AND
    • AND
    • The product of the Toucan is the Tiki Totum.
    • This workshop requires 3 toucan (according to the game faqs). The ev is 6,884. The rate for tiki totum is over 22 on most markets.
    • The ev rate for both honey and cow milk is still under 10.
Next I will show how to determine which artisan product is best to "eat" in order to level the craft up.

I was thinking of slowly building up some products for the TOP Event. Therefore I shifted from parrot feathers yo chopsticks, tiki, pottery etc. But you say 3 toucans required is 3 ? I will check it out.
