Wooden Mallets

Hi all, any ideas on how to get Wooden Mallets? Thought I saw a quest that had some as prizes any one know which one(s)??

P.S. I have opened up well over 14,000 tools from inventory and only got one Mallet out of them!

There are crop refinements that give you a 1000 x chance for mallets. Cauliflower is one and I've been working on it but keep getting my crops returned instead.

 

I was wondering the same thing DBAYES - after waiting an eternity for the 16 drills to finish off my last menagerie, I found I was about five mallets short. I managed to get another four but the last one has eluded me for what seems an age!

I looked at my outstanding FSQs and I have already done "I Believe I can Fly" so I was going to check out my refinery but I have a refinement going on so couldn't check - thank you PnP for giving me the information I was going to look for!

But not sure whether the 1000 x chance will be forthcoming ... we'll just have to wait and see - though don't know when I will get the chance to grow cauliflowers!

Just as a matter of interest, since I have been waiting for those mallets, I have accumulated 43 drills ... go figure!

 

Other crops that also give mallet refinements are aspargus and iris.

 

Oh, thanks Pups. Have you finished all the refinements? I am steadily working my way through them but rarely use them lol! I just want to have them in case I ever need them!

 

Oh My No! Hatzeva is the queen of finished refinements as far as I know. I got very discouraged over the roses and carnations. Easily had more than 60k in attempts and all of them grown. In the beginning, I only thought I would need them for events with hard drops but most events I can finish without relying on 'instant' crops and using super grow. The time reductions without super grow do mean that I can select a longer growing crop that can still fit with my farming style. I haven't worried too much about the wood boards and mallets for the storage facilities only because what holds me up is all those animals. I've been growing those long crops for FSQ and not focused on refinements in a while. They are amazing when you do get them but perhaps I am not patient/persistent enough as I get frustrated and want to do something that I can see is making progress. Refinement attempts over and over (and over) with no refinement at all, let alone the one you want, is just very frustrating for me. Good luck!

 

I tend to go to the one that has the most "positive" refinements still to get and with the most available crops then I use the maximum three tries. It is part of my morning routine to check the Greenhouse, just before checking and gifting my chickadees, and set it off again. I will then check them once more later in the day (if I am home and if I remember). The only ones I have avoided are those that take about 4,000 crops! Lotus Flower, Camomile, Orange Tulips, but I am buying 100 of them each day to build up enough stocks to start playing with them.

I have noticed the ones that give tools and never thought it would be an issue ... until the storage facilities came along!

 

Ok, So I'm over at the greenhouse and added Cauliflower...Now what? The refinement is 'Greyed out', hmm?

 

I'm no expert but if it is greyed out, it may be because you haven't got this refinement yet. I think if you have the refinement, there is a tick on it and it is available to use. Just checked mine and I haven't got it either - I have others for Cauliflower but not that one!

 

All this talk about the refinery made me go and check mine, seem I had spelt cultivating in there. No idea for how long, cos I can't remember putting it on. Didn't find anything, but apparently I must have used a large pot cos I could continue my cultivation and search

Hmm...if it's grayed out, maybe they don't offer that refinement anymore. I'd check Iris -- that one has a wooden mallet refinement, and mine isn't grayed out for Iris searches (don't have cauliflower, so can't search that one).

ETA: If I try to fill a slot with a refinement I don't have (or crop I don't have at my level yet), it's grayed out. Have you actually found/kept the wooden mallet refinement through cauliflower searches, DBayes?

 

If it's greyed out, you haven't discovered it yet, and you can't use it. Those with checkmarks on, you have discovered and can use.

 

I have four available, have tomatoes, carrots and mushrooms active rt now...these were some that I did when it 1st came out, now just trying for mallets but it won't let me un-grey the grey-out, LOL! Did that make any sense, I just don't get it??

 

Is it grayed out in the greenhouse tab under cauliflower or the plant refinery tab?

 

OK, I just planted 1900, cauliflower in the greenhouse and will be done in 6 hrs, what's next when it's finished? Refinement is still grayed out for that plant but it is working in the greenhouse now. Thanks for all the help, by the way.

 

I'm doing a search on roses at the moment, and none of mine are greyed out in the refinements shown above the search. If it fails, DBayes, I'd try the Iris. I'd check cauliflower for you, but I'm not there yet.

 

OK, I did instant finish on Cauliflower and it gave me refinement and 7.2% faster water and not mallets, hmm, will try iris now, think I'm getting it! Thanks
