Wooden Mallets

DBAYES: Not sure if you know but you have to get the refinement first then place it in the Plant Refinery (other Greenhouse tab). Only then will the refinement be active.

From your post, I think that you think that just by getting the refinement, it will immediately work always - not the case unfortunately. You can only use four (free) refinements at any time. There are two other slots you can buy.

If I have misunderstood and I am giving you information you already know. please forgive me ...

 

Yes @illy, Think I got it now, thank you. The cauliflower has been placed in the Plant refinery finally, this is after I had it growing in the 'greenhouse'. The 1st and 2nd harvest it said that I did NOT get the refinement, the 3rd harvest said I got the refinement. Does this sound right to you?

Step 1, Put the required crops in the Greenhouse - I always use the larger pots. If you don't get a refinement, you usually get a compensation. Sometimes you get nearly as much in crops back as you put in, sometimes you get EP, CC, etc.

Even if you get a "negative" refinement/refinement you don't want, accept it. This stops it coming round again (and the waste of more crops). I didn't get this at first till someone pointed it out to me (Mooboy I think).

Step 2, Go to the Plant Refinery and place the refinement.

Remember that if you want to change the refinement, the "Cool Down" is 24 hours - even though you have to pay 2,500 CCs for the privilege!

I was very slow to pick up on the Refinery but I have been working on it now for some time. I tend to pick the crops that I have most of, use the big pots and just make it part of my morning routine. I don't actually use any very often but I want to be ready if I do really need anything*. (Very) Old Brownie/Girl Guide - Be Prepared!

* I remember once I was short of drops and a friendly farmer suggested I do instant Roses - and I didn't have the refinements necessary!

I am still waiting for that last mallet. I don't even need it yet, I only have two Tiki thingies in there at the moment so the other spaces are spare. I just want to be able to fill it when I'm ready!

 

I have got most of the refinements i really need or will use from time to time. Now there is Demand for Wooden Mallets for Menageries, Manufactories and Arboretums....

Wooden Mallets are extremely rare to come by means of Toolbox,XL Toolbox or XXL Toolbox it like winning the lotto lol

As it already been said there is only three refinement crops that can boost drops rate of Wooden Mallets. They are Asparagus, Cauliflower and Iris. I have recently got the Dropper Wood Hammer Refinement on IRIS.

Now i am working on Cauliflowers of the same refinement. It is the Powerdrill that elude me the most need to up my ante of Power Drill Drops. But in that process also needs Wooden Mallets. All Coloured Elephant Stables Crafted in Workshop all need wooden mallets.

I am now taking advantage of Deluxe Spa Mixer, Combined with Refinements to Speed up Drop Rate of specific tools such as Wooden Mallets. Also it helps speed up drop rate of event drops during events too

 

Here's another thing I'm stumped about. I have the cauliflower in my Plant refinery but the only refinement it shows giving out is faster water, not mallets yet, it also says 'delete' under it... where as mushrooms and tomatoes say a time and 8 BB's under them. Should I delete the cauliflower and wait till I get the mallet refinement or keep it as is and still try for the mallet?? Thanks.

 

When any of the slots in the plant refinery shows 'delete', it means the 24 hrs cool down period (timer & BB's) has NOT started and you're NOT able to replace that one refinery right away. Only when the slot is empty you'll be able to add the same (not likely) or any other refinement you want to use in that slot.

If you want to replace the cauliflower water with cauliflower mallet, you first need to obtain that refinement in the greenhouse. Untill you got it, the cauliflower water refinement will stay active, unless you actually delete it and replace it for ANY other refinement of ANY other crop.

Dbayes When doing Refinements, any refinement you win, always take it do not reject it. The Objective is you narrow down the chances of getting the refinement you are seeking.

If you have no luck getting the refinement you are seeking keep trying until you get it. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes it take ages to get it or long time to get it. I always start with medium for first three refinements gained then i move onto larger to increase my chances to get more needed refinement.

 

@DBAYES the mushrooms & tomatoes refinement you have already deleted and are in the cooldown (24 hrs) time. The 8 BB's are if you want to pay to use those slots now! You will have 2 open slots when the cooldown is completed, just keep putting cauliflower in the greenhouse until you get the refinements. But only activate the refinements you actually want!

@habalala when you delete a refinement you start the 24 hr cooldown period.

 

Wow, thanks you guys, think I'm getting it now! I really messed up the cauliflower which has one refinement check marked and one with a '!' under it and I think it's because I declined that one, hmm? The Iris however, has three refinements check marked so, getting closer to mallets! Here's another question, once the mallet is ticked, how will I get it, from harvesting the greenhouse or from my regular fields? Thanks again!

 

Dbayes, a check mark by a refinement means you earned that one and it can be activated if you wish. The ! means that refinement is currently active. Hope that helps. It is confusing when you first start working with refinements.

 

Thanks @mindy1701 for your help and everyone, I finally get it!!!!! I can't even begin tell you all how grateful I am.

 

You need to get the Mallet refinement, place it in the Refinery and then plant Cauliflower in your fields - it is not a given that you will get a Mallet, it just increases the chance of getting a Mallet (I think it gives a 1,000 x chance of receiving a Mallet).

I find I have a refinement for Mallets already on Asparagus so I will be planting them as soon as I have the opportunity!
