    Hiya guy's,
I just thought i would share some Happy proud of myself real life stuff with you all,
So 20 years ago i went for my learners licence and got it 1st go .... But due to family circumstances and lack of funding and one thing or another i didn't ever progress onto or ever go for my provisional licence .... So anyways about 4 weeks ago my oldest son went for his learners licence and that got me thinking .... I've been wife and mother for many years maybe it's time to do something for myself .... and a little bit of if he can do it, why the heck can't i in there as well .... Soooo i studied and put in for the paper worked needed birth cert ... and marriage cert .... waited and waited for paperwork to arrive all the time still studing ..( didn't want to have to pay for it and not pass) and my paperwork arrived this morning so by 12pm today I'm now the proud owner of one learner's licence (aced it 100%) lol ... went for my 1st drive in 20 years this afternoon ,,, I'm a very happy froggie this evening :)

    Thank you so much :)
Might not seem like much for some .... but for me as a suffer from a HUGE lack of confidence , anxiety issues and panic attacks it was a huge step for me to go for it ... so very pleased i did :)

It is a big step and took a lot of courage to overcome your anxiety to do so. Be proud of yourself. As you practice you may find your confidence building and then who knows....you may want to go on a road trip and see new things. Big hugs to little froggie.:)

Nawww Thanks guy's .... Lucky enough my oldest son bought his 1st car last week and it just happens to be small enough for me to almost fully reach the pedals (a Toyota Echo) i can do it with my tippy toes lol .. ...(i can't drive OUR family car as i cant reach the pedals) So I'm going to need me a tiny car .... anything BUT a smart car lol ....

Congratulations Frogs :D That's so great!!!
It will get easier each time you go out, just take the back roads. I lost my license for two years due to having seizures. When I got them back I was so nervous and anxious I had trouble driving. I had to stick to the back roads for awhile until I built up my confidence. And I had a commercial license before, I used to drive semi-tractors....hubby put blocks of wood on the pedals so I could reach them. xD

Turn up the music, let the breeze blow and you will be driving all over :music:

Yes strange you should say about seizures .... that was ONE of my reasons for the delay in going for mine again ... BUT i've been seizure free for over 8 years now ... they never really got to the bottom of what was the cause of mine .... but i think after 8 years it's time it give it a ago ... also i never ever had a seizure from seated always only from standing .....Over here anything like extensions have to been approved by the department of transport....

Thank you so much Arielh it will be nice to not have to rely on my poor husband to drive me everywhere ..... lol ....
I can go for my Red P's here as soon as i feel i'm ready for the driven test .... here we have to hold Red p's for at lest 12 months then we sit another test and go for our green P's and we have to hold them also at lest 12 months ... then we can go for our full driver's licence it's a very long process for a drivers licence now days here .... slightly shorter for myself due to my age lol

8 years is great!! My license does state that I have seizures and I can never have a commercial license again. Over here each state has different laws but in mine I had to be seizure free for 2 years. Then my doctor has to sign off that I'm okay to drive each time I renew them. I take daily meds but had a breakthrough a few months back, now I'm on a six month no driving order from my doctor.
To me driving is like having freedom, no asking anyone to take me anywhere.....just get up and go....

Congratulations frogs!:D You should bask in your courage and your new freedom, you did awesome!:inlove: I think the graduated license idea is great, I wish we had tougher restrictions on getting driver's licenses here in my state, it might help curb the recent up-trend of crashes we've had the last few years if people understood driving is a privilege and a responsibility, not a right. Teens here have a graduated license, tho nowhere near as strict as yours, but I'm pretty sure adults can just go take the test and get their license. And what a great time to be able to go for drives, enjoying the last of the summer/start of early fall!

Well done Frogs. It is wonderful that you are now able to be independent of Hubby. I sometimes love to just go out where I want and I can take the route (easy one usually) without comment from Himself! Over here youngsters get a provisional and can drive with a qualified driver, then have to pass a written test and then a driving test. After that they can do what they want which seems a bit odd. A car is a very dangerous weapon in the wrong hands! Enjoy yourself.

I'm in Australia so no summer weather here at the moment just coming out of winter slowly .... I have to drive with a licenced driver until i pass my Red provisional licence but after that i'm good to go on my own so hubby isn't off the hook just yet still dangling a little lol ....
