Edelweiss Valley - Game Feature- Strategy Thread.

Here is the FAQ thread - https://board-en.farmerama.com/threads/edelweiss-valley.43257/#post-285789

Since it is a new feature and the instructions seems confusing, I think we can have our discussion of Edelweiss Valley, so as how to unlock, play, level up etc., in this thread. FAQ is still being updated.

But let's start. Each of us can contribute. First part of the Edelweiss Valley - The Northern woods is to be open tomorrow with 20 levels. Other part, areas and levels will be opened later on. We have Aep not EP for the said Valley. It also has its own customers.

How do I get Alp-EP (Aep)?
    • by performing specific actions
    • Aep is obtained by solving Customer Requests
Northern Woods has 9 features :-

    • 1: Carpentry
    • 2: Warehouse
    • 3: Lumbermill
    • 4: Assistants
    • 5: At first you have few plots open for your trees
    • 6: You are able to extent the area more
    • 7-9: Northern Woods II-IV - Coming soon

    To unlock we need :-

    1. 2500 stars. That's a lot. - See if you have crate of stars and open them for stars. Do FSQs to get some stars. Completing all 3 steps of each tasks gives you 6 stars.

    2. Mainland Level 98 -
    • We have crates that give EPs and Crafting Products that give EPs.
    • Also FSQs give EPs.
    • There are EP Harvest bonus coupouns - from 200% to 100%. You can use them to fill up your gold and silver buff slots before harvesting your EP Givers.
    • Doing season also gives you good EP in return.
    • Season tokens can also be used to redeem EP bonuses. They run immediately.

Here is our thread that speaks about EP leveling up. It needs more update. But there are lots of tricks and strategies there - EP Strategies (Compiled Version)

There is a bonus code HAPPYRELEASEDAY1 valid from now onwards until Friday, 9th of December at 23:59 CET
    that gives,
    • 60 x Super-grow
    • 30 Suzy's Super-grow
    • 40 x Power-feed
    • 3 x Party tickets

Thanks for starting the thread 12ss12. I'm sure we're all going to need this one.

I only have two farms with enough stars to open the area. And that's okay, because I do NOT have time to fool with this on all my farms.

Edited to add: In trying to get the last of the daily quest event crops planted, I have discovered that the game is S-L-O-W! So hoping that tomorrow's technical time out will correct this. If the game stays this sloggy slow, I'll have to let all the baby farms go fallow.

I was just now thinking of you and others who do events on all their farms. Whether they would have enough stars to ope it. I was logging in to all my farms to redeem the bonus code. GIves good amount of PFs, SSGs and SGs. All my farms have only 17 stars or so. I was thinking only active farms that have been playing for sometime will be able to accumulate such huge amount of stars.

Finally able to log in and check this out. Not sure how long the downtime was but was down when I got up an hour and a half ago.
Anyone else think this is resource intensive?

My main account went there and can no longer even use the 3 buttons on the left to get in the forum or use the special gift code.

It was same thing for me. But I refreshed the page and then I was able to get into the forum. Each time you have to refresh to do an action. Mine still freezes and I refresh to open it and refresh to close it.

It is not very clear how to proceed with this new feature but I have enough to be going on with to take my time and wait till my brain can take it all in. All very pretty though! :D

From what little I could tell, you turn in stables to make the fuel can things to possible get trees. I didn't stay long and then had issues trying to get to the forum and had to log out of the game just to get here. Now, I am afraid to go back and lock up my game.

This does seem very resource and time intensive. I have been turning yellow beaver pens (1, value just over the 10 needed) into the green fuel; reaper grass (2, value 16 each) into the humus and 2 peacocks (to equal 54 value), because I have so many of them, into the took kits. I created my first apricot tree and planted it. I imagine it's like everything else - as we go along, we obtain the ability to do more things faster, but right now, it's highly laborious. The glitchy stuff doesn't help - I have to at least back out of the new playfield after every visit to the various features - but in the place to create stuff, you can move from one function to the next with the green arrows, just like in inventory, and save that step! I"m sure they'll get all that stuff worked out; I'm more interested to see whether we'll need the machinery, or will that just make it more fun, because if it's as needed as the mainland machinery, and we have to pay separately for that, then my Alpine Valley will be sitting unharvested for long stretches :)

This farm has just over 400 stars, so won't be opening the alpine area anytime soon.

Things I know because sewinglady and dumbunny farms have opened it:

#1 - ugh. time consuming. Start things and leave - check back later. It will be a while before I can plant a tree. One tree. Really?
#2 - yay. we can get rid of excess animal pens.
#3 - This is really a whole new game. Except for the fact that we are using regular farm commodities to subsidize the mechanics of this area, it's really not the same game.

I used 27825 stars in the entire Wisdom Tree and now I have 1500 stars and I'm in no rush for the alps
I listen to the farmers who reach the Alps, I hope it will be a pleasant playground.

    Nope. Not too soon.

So sewinglady's farm always has to do everything to excess. That farm has harvested a tree 3 times and now chopped it down and put in another one. Also has filled a customer order. Has all the available plots growing various stages of "the tree".

Of course now that farm wants MOAR kinds of trees. I think it's gonna be a while.

And what are we gonna do with all those logs after we get a whole barn full of them? Start a bonfire?

Don't tell me you both are already affected with OCAD. o_OxD

I still have to make the ingridients to get my first tree and I am still milling the Humus.

Can anyone give a simple instruction on how to get a tree and take that to completion? I cannot work it out. It is first thing in the morning here but I have a very lazy brain! xD

You make lumber, it will be needed in future, I guess. At least you can make lumber already.
Did you notice, there is limits how much you can store at barn? And in some stage you can make it larger.

Go to the building in left. If you have all needed items, you can graft it. If not, you must make items in Lumbermill. You have to wait in every stage and collect them when they are ready. Even the treeso_O

You make lumber. You need black ones for the next tree.
Toolkits etc... for experience points, which must be made in the same way.

Sorry, I must be extremely dim cos I can't see where I get the trees (thought we could swap mainland stuff) and I can't see how to get anything to carry on with the productions.

I have made a start, though, I have managed to make some fuel so maybe if I mess about a bit, I might fall over the logs that I seem to need! xD

I will help you, illy. I will. xD Just do one click on the lumbermill - the 3rd building from your left to right. 5 types of mill products to be milled will be displayed. As of now we can mill only 3 types - green fuel, humus, toolkit. You can mill all the three of them at once. They are needed for producing the tree. Inside the lumbermill too you can shift to each of the 5 types. See the top left corner for the shifting icon. Click on it.
