So I'm about 3 days into the game. I've been having a good time so far, but I've gotten to the point where I'm trying to figure out what the best use for my Barnyard Bills are. As far as I can tell, buying a rare animal pen is a good route, however I don't want to miss something because I'm new and waste the precious BB. I tried to look for a FAQ about it, but really there's not much useful information.

So what is/are the best use for Barnyard Bills?

Hi Decree, welcome to forum and nice to meet you.:)

As far as I know, the best use of BBs are for :
    1. Wonder Stable (when a new rare animal is introduced)
    2. Wonder Tree (when a new rare tree fruit is introduced)
    3. Power-feed Package (usually held when Baby Boom Day/Breeding Based event comes)
    4. Event drop items (usually done when an event is almost over or when a person is very busy in the real life, but (s)he wanted to complete it)
    5. Recipe of Artisan/Crafting product (usually bought when an Half Price mini-event comes)
    6. Pet (usually bought when an Half Price mini-event comes)
    7. Magical Cloud Stalk/Row Package
    8. Giving/Trading/Merchant license (when a G&T mini-event comes)
Everyone has different needs than others. So no matter how the best ways to use BBs.:music:

Perhaps more fellow farmers can add more useful advice.

If you think of BB's as real life money that might help you decide what you want to spend them on. You get a small amount when you first start playing but they quickly become few and far between unless you spend real money to purchase them. That being said I agree with all of SillyGuy's list and there are a few more as well.

The most important part to know is that there is pretty much a sale for almost everything and if you make purchases at that time you can save a lot of money. There is even a sale to buy the BB's themselves that usually coincides with Mega EP day where you get bonus EP for buying BB's. This is a link to last months mini-event sales to give you an idea of what you can expect.

The one thing I know it's a bad idea to spend BB's on is to buy CC's. That is truly a bad exchange as CC's are fairly easy to earn once you get going.

Good luck and happy farming! :)

Decree - The only thing I would add to the great advice already given is for you to wait a bit before spending your BB's. Try to get a feel for the game and see how you like to play - what you want to accomplish - before spending those precious BB's.

Welcome to the forum and have fun farming!:)

Hello Decree and welcome to farmerama.

Whether, or not to spend your BBs may depend on a couple of things.
    1. Do you intend on spending real money playing the game, and if so, what is your budget?
    2. Do you have a cinema in your town square? If you do, you have the ability to play the game and possibly not spend any, or very little, real money if you are very frugal with your BBs. I am currently level 68 and have over 100 BBs by using the cinema and not being in a hurry to do everything I haven't spent any real money.

One of my biggest expenses is power feed, but I take breeding slow and make my own power feed in the mill, but that's down the road for you. For now I would totally conserve my power feed. I was lucky enough to have some awesome neighbors who gifted me some of the rare items, others I received from events, thus allowing me to conserve my BBs.

When I was at your point in the game I didn't spend any BBs until an event came around that would allow me to maximize the return on my money and I visited the cinema virtually every day. You will get the hang of that as you go along. I still visit it virtually every day. You can never have too many BBs! They can disappear quickly.

The bottom line is, this is a game and it can be a lot of fun if you keep that in mind. You have already taken a huge first step on the right path by using the forum and asking for advice from people like: SillyGuy, Clashstrummer, Willow, and the rest of the veterans. They have helped me tremendously and have never made me feel as if I was asking a stupid question, even though I did.

All the suggestions from the people before me are excellent. They have been playing a lot longer than I have and have a wealth of knowledge which I have always found them very eager to share with anyone who asks for help. I hope you are able to get some good neighbors and a good mentor and enjoy the game. It is a lot of fun and there are a lot of outstanding people playing it. So good luck and welcome to the community.

I second that wholeheartedly, when you are new there is so much to figure out, you don't really need to spend any BBs at first.

I just want to add another advice (know you didn't ask for it), also save your power feed (usually abbreviated PF), after BBs the second most valuable resource in the game. I think the game tells you that you can use it to speed up your stables, but don't do that! PF is needed for breeding colored animals (available from level 21), so save it for that :)

Welcome Decree... visit the strategy forum. In addition to the threads there, I have posted a couple of threads that cover this topic/have info particularly good for newbies, that were recently moved from that forum to the archives.

Here is one: (on goofs to avoid) :

I seem to remember another specifically on BB spending, but did not find it yet. If I do, I will post it.
