Beautiful pictures. Autumn can be so colourfull ! I used to remember, very often, the days when we walked to school. There were trees on both side. All the flowers would have fallen on the ground and it will be like yellow & pale pink carpets on the roads. To see it will by itself a pleasure. I get that feeling on seeing your posts.

That particular posts which you referred has been moved to archive due to inactivity. Thanks a lot for starting this thread. I was thinking whether to start a similar thread or not.

I shot the pictures when we were travelling in a car. We were on a tour 2 years back.

Podhigai Mountain (Part of Western Ghats, Tamilnadu).
On the way from Kuttralam (courtallam) to Papanasam Dam.
I guess, this mountain must have been formed due to volcanic eruption.
    Mesmerised me.
& the last picture is Lion-tailed monkey.

Yes, if you give them bananas & groundnuts ;) I have not yet tried this monkey. But have given bananas, biscuits etc., to ordinary monkeys. After that if you stroke them (and you should not have frightened them) they don't mind until their snacks is finished. This monkey you can find only in mountain areas.

Farmlily3- you haven't mentioned Salem Mass.
    What a wonderful historic town.
I remember touring the house of the seven gables as a child and having such fun in all the secret passageways.
I would love to go back there.

Arielh- to stroke an animal means to pet them :)

8)You are SO right, Lea!! This state has so much, it is impossible to post it all!! I'll see what I can find about Salem and 'the house'...and I haven't done the Berkshires, either!! Or our beautiful Winter snows!!

But someone needs to post, (thank you!! :))as I had to delete my post answering Arielh's question so I wouldn't double post!!

    Here it is, Lea...
(This house was made famous in an 1851 novel by American author Nathaniel Hawthorne. He was a visitor to this house, which was owned by an elderly cousin. For anyone interested in reading a creepy 'ghost' story...)

Nathaniel Hawthorne also wrote "The Scarlet Letter".

Love all the pictures. I grew up in Ct. and Mass. I try to go back every summer for a week or two. Are you near Northhampton, Mass.?
Have you been to a small town called East Otis?

    Hi farmlily3, & CylentLea123 & lottidah !

Great photos, especially of the whale, memorial stone, ships, house of 7 Gables. Farmlily3, you live in a great place.

I have heard about Massachusetts. We studied about Boston Tea Part in our history lessons. Boston is captial of Massachusetts, is it not? And also we have a city & District here in Tamilnad named 'Salem' which is best known for its mangoes, steel, textiles among other things. Its history dates from pre-historic times.

    8) Hi lottidah, 12/12!!:) Thanks! I love doing pictures!!

I was born in CT. but have lived all over the US...a few years here, a year or three there, etc., from the time I was 3 yrs old! The beauty, variety/diversity on this planet just leaves me in awe! Each place has its own beauty.
I've not been to East Otis, but I know where it is. Can you tell/show a little bit about it??
And Northampton is west of where I live now, although I did live there for several months before moving to where I am now. NoHo(Northampton) is a very interesting college town, lots to do/see! They actually held a week long 350th 'birthday' celebration in honor of one of my ancestors a few years back. (He was a famous Preacher who lived in the 1700's, on my Mom's side.)

12/12, I am surprised that you have heard/studied about Boston!! And have a town named Salem!! What a small planet we live on - and I'm glad to know you here on this forum!!!:D Love your posts and all your great Grapevine info!! My farm changes accordingly!:music:xD

I was also born in CT. If you blink when you drive thru East Otis you have missed the town. It is 15 min. from Otis. It's attraction is it has a lake ,my favorite place, and a reservoir with houses on it. in the woods! I would love to put a picture up but I haven't figured that out yet.

When you find the picture you want to post here copy its link(URL) by right clicking the picture. Then come here and click the icon which is like a landscape(near the smile icon) and again by right clicking past the link(URL) of the picture.:)

8)Sorry, lottidah - I think I misunderstood you about posting pictures. I thought you meant you had some yourself, not on the computer, but did not know how to post those. (I don't know how to do that either!!)

Posting photos from the Net is really easy, as Arielh has described....except for the first time or two you do it!! LOL!! Then it is easy!;) (David, and Mir, had to teach me. We all need a little help now and then! Or in my case - a lot!!)

    1. Find the photo on the Web that you want to copy.
    2. Right click on the photo you want to copy.
    3. You will then get a popup. Right click on "Copy image address".
    4. Return immediately to your farm post-in-progress...
    5. Left click on the square icon just to the right of the smiley face, ('image')
    6. Right click the address(URL) box, then click 'paste'...(the URL will magically appear in the box!)
    7. Left click on green 'insert' button
    8. It's done!! Scroll down and view your handiwork!!!:DCongratulations![IMG]
    9. Practice!!xD:inlove:

wow. it those are really beautiful pictures and yes are world is beautiful.. i live in Arkansas in the foothills of the Ozark mountains. the leaves are just starting to change and the air smells so clean after the hot humid summer.. It's still hot but its not so humid and fall is starting to move in. during the summer i like to fish and swim in our clear water rivers and when fall sets in i enjoy hunting. it not just because of the hunt that i enjoy this.. sitting in a stand when the sun is first coming up on a cool autumn morning with a crisp breeze in your face, watching the woods come alive is my place of zen.. i'm so looking forward to the frost. i don't have any pictures because currently my camera is broke but i hope to post some soon.
