    Firstly, you go to the market and look for golden leaf.

    Next, you click on golden leaf and look for offers with 88.88 as price/unit.
    The amount sold in each offer is your market number.

    From this picture, you know that my market number is 6...
    which I always don't want to say.

    PS. farmerlily22 what is your market number?

    What a suprise and joy to see those pictures of Skiathos! Thanks Arielh.

    I once spend a few weeks on the island (mid 1980's) . Very relaxing! Sun, hotel, beach, sea, friendly people, nice atmosphere and great sea food! Good memories here ..

    I bet things changed! I recall there was one very shabby road along the south coast, with 1 pretty new, huge, resort hotel, and a few smaller hotels. 1 bus, four times a day, serviced the tourists. One day I walked to the monestery, passing the local rubbish dump site .. hmm.. walk took about 7 hours forth and back and I didn't see anyone!
    Oh, harborfront had like five small bars and there were about 5 ferries a day.
    At the time the tourist aspect of the island was about to boom. Guess it got pretty crowded by now. Who cares as long as life is good!
    I *might* return one day. If so I'll let you know.

    habalala yes now there are more tourists and more hotels but the way you described the island almost fits the way it is on winter. In the summer we have more buses and very often to service the tourists. I know the monastery you mentioned, it is called Kounistra. It is a religious custom on 20 of November to walk on foot from the main island to the monastery and all locals go.
    I am sure you will also like the island and for the way it is now;)
