Hi I'm new, been playing maybe a couple of weeks. I have read the FAQ about the market and seen a few comments posted by other people and still had some questions on how it all works.

First I have seen the prices of things in the market and they are way higher than the barn values. That would be a good thing, but I'm not making enough through FSQ's to buy anything from the market yet.

The FAQ cautions that you pay a 10% commission/market stall rent, up front, whether is sells or doesn't. All well and good, but I also heard that there is multiple markets. I have seen comments to Markets #15, #25 and a number #40. So, how do I determine which market # I'm in? Second, I haven't seen a lot of posts in these forums, so I also I am worried that could translate to a dead market (due to a lack of active players in my market # ), which means anything I offer for sale, the market takes it's cut off the top and nobody buys because nobody is on to buy. How do I know my market # is active? How do I even tell what crops are even worth growing and posting for sale? I cannot see any mechanic of determining whether a crop is "in demand". The FAQ just makes it seem like it is just post for sale and hope somebody wants it. Is this right? I also read that there is a rune on the wisdom tree that gives you extra money from market sales. Does that mean that buyers have to pay more because the seller has that rune active? As I said earlier, I don't have thousands of CCs to pay for my 10% commission to try and sell something that nobody wants to a market that nobody is on to buy it. It takes a lot of time at my relatively low level to make a few thousand CCs from FSQ's to even consider trying to sell something in the market on such a blind gamble. In other games it is the computer you are selling/buying to/from. Here you say it is other players. So I need to know I am not trying sell left handed knitting needles to the crochet club.

Thanks for your time and consideration and hopefully some great answers to these questions.

You do not need much CC to start. Sell first small amounts to earn more CC to sell bigger lots. You do not need much CCs to sell 100 wheat, but please, do not sell 1 manure at time, it is very irritating.

I would say almost everything sells, if the price is right. Rune means you can set higher top price, when you sell, but it is seldom used, because there is a risk, that nobody buys. Only when there is only couple of offers of manure in whole market or you are selling something everybody needs (like special event plants in one event) and which disappears from market in that second you sell it
Rune means you can have higher top price, when you sell.

Rune means you can have higher top price, when you sell.

Here is how you can count your market number: https://board-en.farmerama.com/threads/market-place-number.33268/#post-206792

    Hello sueperkins,

The market takes 10% commision from your total listing price of each item listed for sale. If you want to sell, it is advisable to check what the price is being listed for each item. The lowest price always shows first. Example: Carrots on the first page are listed between 701 CC and 890 CC per unit. You can choose to sell between these price ranges and you would have a good chance of selling. If you listed them at 900 to 1000 CC as listed on page 3, you can earn more CC's but you take the risk that they may not sell as quickly or at all depending how many new offers are placed at a lower sell price.
If you have the Market Fairy rune opened in the Tree of Wisdom, you can list prices at 75% higher than the usual 50%.
There are several markets in the Game. One of them are assisgned to each player upon joining the Game. All Markets are active, there are no inactive markets.
As the Market is dynamic, selling prices are determined by demand and supply. It may take some time to understand this.
-Paaryna11 has shown the link to discover which Market you have been assigned. You can learn more about making CC's, a strategy thread created from the form players here.

    Can I assist you further?
